Last chance to apply for Vancouver Outsider Arts Fest!

If you identify as an outsider, and you are 19 years or older, residing in the Metro Vancouver area, you can still apply for the Vancouver Outsider Arts Festival.

Vancouver Outsider Arts Festival (VOAF) offers visual and performing artists facing social exclusion and other barriers opportunities for exhibition and sales, performance and participation, connection and learning.

Artists and performers are paid CARFAC fees and benefit from the free workshops, networking, and promotion included in their participation.

Artists and performers in the Metro Vancouver area from varying disciplines, backgrounds, and level of experience are encouraged to apply.

The 2022 Vancouver Outsider Arts Festival will take place from October 14-16, 2022 at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre located in downtown Vancouver.

Application Guidelines:

  • Applicants may be self-taught or trained

  • Applicants are self-identified “Outsider Artists” devoted to their creative practices, coming from a point of view that is outside the mainstream art world trends.

  • All applicants must be 19 years or older and have a body of work that will be ready for an October 2022 festival.

  • Applicants residing in the Metro Vancouver area are eligible to apply.

  • Visual Artist applicants must submit 4 examples of their artwork in their application. If the artwork they intend on exhibiting in the festival is not completed when they submit their application, they can submit 4 pieces as an example of the artwork they create.

  • Performer applicants are asked to attach a video of past performance, provide a link to a video that is online (on YouTube, Vimeo, etc.), record and attach a video solely for this application, OR be prepared to audition.
