B.C. announces new cabinet and new Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport

In an announcement on Wednesday, December 7th, Premier David Eby unveiled his new cabinet.

Among the changes is a new Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport.

Former Minister of Agriculture, Lana Popham is taking over the portfolio from her predecessor, Melanie Mark, who resigned from cabinet in September.

Originally elected in 2009 as MLA for Saanich South, Popham served as the Official Opposition spokesperson for agriculture and food, and small business. As the Official Opposition critic for tourism, arts and culture she won re-election campaigns in 2013, 2017, and 2020.

Popham will be joined in her new role by Parliamentary Secretary for Arts and Film, Bob D’Eith.
