Showcase applications for BC Touring Council’s Pacific Contact 2022, April 7-10, are now available at I Want To Showcase. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, June 30 at 5:00 pm (PDT).

Pacific Contact 2022 takes place over four days from Thursday, April 7 to Sunday, April 10. Conference activities include showcases, workshops, networking meetings, the Contact Room (trade show), Short 5 Showcases and hospitality. The conference takes place at the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown in Burnaby, BC. Showcases take place at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts.

BCTC supports equity and diversity in its organization and welcome and encourages applications from all groups. This includes women, visible minorities, Indigenous Peoples, persons with disabilities, persons of diverse sexual orientation, gender identity or expression (LGBTQ2S+), and others who may contribute to diversity. We also recognize unique styles, perspectives, beliefs and creativity that support a diverse, respectful, inclusive and collaborative work and volunteer environment.

Juried showcases are 15 minutes long at Pacific Contact. Music, Dance, Theatre and Variety acts are showcased for delegates who book for both adult and family audiences. There are 24 to 30 juried 15-minute showcases each year.

Presenters come to Pacific Contact to book performances for audiences in their communities. They book on behalf of organizations, schools, festivals and facilities. They attend showcases to experience artists “live – on stage”. They get to see who is in the marketplace and the level of artistry available for touring. Artists, Agents and Managers come to sell shows, book tours and to network with colleagues. Everyone attends for the professional development opportunities including workshops, meetings, presentations, as well as for the networking, and hospitality.
