Free Upcoming Workshop: Sighted Guide Training

VocalEye is offering a free public workshop in sighted guide techniques for anyone who would like to learn how to assist someone who is blind or partially sighted. The workshop takes place in Vancouver on Saturday, June 29.

Participants will learn basic skills for guiding and assisting people who are blind and partially sighted in everyday situations. The morning session will focus on practical techniques; the afternoon session will cover language, etiquette and simple scenarios; and the day will end in conversation with members from the blind/low vision community. Sessions will be led by Amy Amantea and Steph Kirkland. Light snacks will be provided.
