We at the BC Alliance are excited to unveil our Winter Workshops for 2019! We've listened to your feedback, and hope that you'll walk away from these sessions with valuable new tools and perspectives. Click here for in-depth descriptions and registration information, or read on for a brief overview.

First up, on February 19, Mary Ann S. Anderson returns with Navigating Gaming: How to Win a Community Gaming Grant. Grant-writing expert Mary Ann will pass along her 13 years of experience on how to tackle this vital but notoriously tricky funding application. This popular session fills quickly, so sign up now! Register here.

On March 6, acclaimed artist Renae Morriseau leads participants through Indigenous Storytelling in Theatre, Visual Art and Music: A Presentation and Dialogue. In this session, Renae will draw upon her own works, as well as those of other Indigenous artists, to encourage questions about how art can be used as a form of reconciliation, and how it can decolonize and deconstruct Euro/Canadian models and aesthetics. Register here.

Tax season got your anxiety coursing? Marianna Scott of Quantum Accounting is here to help on March 13 with Tax Relief: Making Tax Preparation Painless. This workshop will cover the fundamentals of taxation for self-employed individuals, with an emphasis on artists and craftspeople. If you dread tax season, and put off thinking about your taxes until the last minute, this workshop is for you. Register here.

Lastly, a pair of workshops around succession planning courtesy of Realize Strategies: Executive Director & Board Succession Planning, on May 21, offers best practices around passing the torch to a new ED or reinforcing your board (register here), while the May 22 workshop, Staff Retention and Succession Planning, helps you preserve your all-star staff while still laying plans for future departures (register here). You do not need to attend one session to attend the other, so register according to your needs.

As always, BC Alliance members access all of our workshops at a special discounted rate, and anybody can attend remotely via livestream. ASL interpretation is available upon request. For full details on our Winter Workshops, including rates and registration, visit our Workshops page.
