Made in BC Announces Jane D. Gabriels as New Executive Director

Made in BC - Dance on Tour has announced the appointment of Dr. Jane D. Gabriels as its new executive director. Gabriels has served non-profit arts organizations for nearly 20 years.
 
As executive and artistic director of Pepatián, Jane has a proven record of accomplishments in creating and supporting projects that inspire and inform networks of dance artists and presenters. She successfully initiated Configurations in Montréal: performance curation and communities of colour, funded by Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council / SSHRC-CRSH, which included the participation of a range of university and non-profit partners. This gathering of artists, curators, scholars and presenters from across Canada and the U.S. served to build cross-border bridges with opportunities to share current knowledge about contemporary dance and performance. She also served on the boards of: Tangente, Studio 303 and with CICA-ICAC, International Community of Performing Arts Curators, an organization which she co-founded.
