On September 22 the Alcuin Society celebrates the winners of its Canada-wide design competition for books published in 2015 at a free event at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. The award presentation will be followed by a panel discussion with artists Nick Bantock, Sarah Leavitt and Johnnie Christmas on the subject of graphic storytelling.

The Awards

The Alcuin Awards for Excellence in Book Design in Canada have been presented annually
since 1981. This year there were 42 winning books and 36 winning designers, in categories
ranging from children’s to poetry to prose-non-fiction books. See the Alcuin Society Awards page for a list of winners.

This year's award winning books will be on display and copies of the presenters' books will be available for signing and purchase at the event.
