Job Description:
The City of Delta is looking for dynamic, creative, and energetic Performing Arts Instructors to teach our recreational performing arts programs for all ages and abilities.
Responsibilities:
The Leader will develop and implement quality, instructional, and engaging classes in acting for stage and screen, writing, singing, and/or musical theatre. Other performing arts will be considered. Programs run on a weekly basis during weekday mornings, weekday after school /evenings and weekends. Week-long camps run Monday – Friday over the summer.
Qualifications:
• Have ongoing personal and/or professional practice in performing arts
• Have a strong teaching background and experience instructing dance to a variety of age groups
• Music and/or dance experience is an asset
• Flexible, self motivated, and can take initiative with little supervision
• Responsible and punctual
• Have strong customer service skills with excellent classroom management and organizational skills
• Willing to work 2-4 hour shifts in Tsawwassen, Ladner, and/or North Delta
• Available to work evenings (starting as early as 3pm) and weekends
• Able to commit to two sessions (2 months in duration) of instruction
• Able to create lesson plans for a series of sessional lessons
• Must be able to pass and maintain a clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) check
