Job Description:
Our Recreation Department is currently seeking out-going, enthusiastic and energetic individuals to join our team as Recreation Leader – Arts & Culture, assisting in leading activities and delivering programs and services for children and other community members. At this time, we are specifically looking for individuals with visual and/or performing arts experience to lead spring break and summer day camps for children ages 5 to 12.
Responsibilities:
Instructs, facilitates and participates in program delivery for a variety of arts & culture programs and services within established standards and guidelines
Prepares program plans for review by a supervisor for assigned recreation programs and services
Provides referrals to community resources within established guidelines
Sets up equipment necessary for assigned programs and stores equipment safely
Maintains routine records, reports and enters program data
Drafts promotional material for review and approval by a supervisor
Provides direction and instruction to other members of the work unit and/or program contractors and provides assistance to others in the department
Qualifications:
Highschool Diploma or equivalent (GED)
Six (6) months full-time equivalent experience working in an arts related setting
Minimum of two (2) post-secondary courses related to community development
Standard First Aid
Serving It Right
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
Facilitation Training

Remuneration:
$26.96 (2025 rate of pay), plus % in lieu of benefits and statutory holidays
