Job Description:

The Membership & Community Services Coordinator is the primary liaison for CARFAC BC’s members, non-members, and stakeholders. Reporting to the Executive Director and Board of Directors, this role ensures the smooth delivery of member services, resources, and communications while fostering engagement across diverse communities, with a special focus on equity and Indigenous artistry.

This part-time, remote role offers flexible hours and opportunities to grow within the organization.

Responsibilities:

Membership Services:
* Act as the main point of contact for member inquiries, providing professional and timely support.
* Process membership applications, renewals, and updates using Salesforce CRM.
* Develop and implement strategies to engage, recruit, and retain members, focusing on equitable outreach to underrepresented communities.
* Communicate membership benefits, ensuring they remain relevant and accessible.
* Familiarity with the CARFAC Minimum Fee Schedule and ability to assist artists with fee consultations.

Community Engagement:
* Plan and coordinate events such as workshops, webinars, and professional development opportunities tailored to member needs.
* Maintain and enhance the BC Gallery Catalogue, ensuring it reflects the diversity and talent of BC’s visual arts sector.
* Support advocacy efforts by promoting resources like CARFAC’s Fee Schedule, Artist Toolkits, and Copyright resources.
* Collaborate with Indigenous artists and equity-seeking groups to ensure inclusive and culturally respectful programming.

Communications & Outreach:
* Create and distribute regular member communications, including e-newsletters, event promotions, and advocacy updates.
* Manage CARFAC BC’s social media platforms, producing engaging content aligned with the organization’s values.
* Oversee website updates, ensuring timely promotion of programs, resources, and sector news.
* Build partnerships with other arts organizations to expand benefits and resources for members.

Operations & Administrative Support:
* Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to align services with CARFAC BC’s strategic goals.
* Provide administrative support, including managing invoices, tracking membership fees, and maintaining organizational records.
* Attend Board meetings, offering updates on membership and community services.
* Perform other tasks as required to support the organization’s daily operations.

Qualifications:

Required Skills & Experience:
* Minimum of one year of experience in nonprofit or arts administration or equivalent relevant experience.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including email marketing and social media proficiency.
* Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM software and tools like WordPress, Canva, and MailChimp.
* Demonstrated commitment to equity, social justice, and inclusivity in the arts.
*Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills & Experience:
* Familiarity with Indigenous creative culture and practices in the visual arts.
* Graphic design skills and experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
* Knowledge of AI tools and their applications in nonprofit or arts contexts.
* A practicing visual artist or someone deeply connected to the arts community in BC.
