About the Exhibition:

As technology advances and environmental consciousness grows, artists are increasingly re-evaluating the materials they use. Works on Paper challenges artists to explore the versatility and expressive potential of paper in all its forms. This exhibition invites innovative approaches to a medium that has long been a foundation for artistic practice. From traditional handmade sheets to contemporary industrial materials, anything commercially recognized as “paper” serves as an open-ended substrate for creative exploration.

About the FCA:
Founded in 1941 by prominent Canadian artists, including members of the Group of Seven such as Lawren Harris, Arthur Lismer, and A.Y. Jackson, the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA) is a registered charity and the largest national visual arts organization in Canada. With over 2,800 members and 14 chapters across the country, the FCA is dedicated to supporting, promoting, and developing artists at every stage of their careers - from emerging talents to established professionals - while fostering a greater appreciation for art and culture across Canada.

The FCA operates its own gallery, the Federation Gallery, located on Granville Island in the heart of Vancouver’s vibrant arts and culture community. The gallery hosts bi-monthly juried exhibitions featuring the works of both emerging and established artists. In addition to exhibitions, the FCA offers an extensive education program that includes workshops, classes, critiques, and lectures across a variety of fine art media. These programs, led by successful artists and expert consultants, provide valuable opportunities for artists to develop and expand their skills and careers.

*FCA Members: $20/entry, up to five (5) entries
*Non-Members: $25/entry, up to five (5) entries

Awards & Sales Commission Rate
*1st Place: $100 CA cash prize
*FCA Members: 65% Artist, 35% Gallery
*Non-Members: 50% Artist, 50% Gallery
