The Opportunity
The Banff Centre Mountain Film and Book Festival is one of the flagship programs of Banff Centre. As one of the world’s pre-eminent mountain festivals – and a co-founder of the International Alliance for Mountain Film — the Festival began 50 years ago in the small Rocky Mountain town of Banff, Alberta. What began as a one-day festival of climbing films has now blossomed into a nine-day event in Banff that explores and celebrates what Mountain Culture means to people around the world. Events include film screenings; readings; guest-speaker presentations; film, book, essay, and photography competitions; filmmaking, writing, and photography workshops; and a mountain marketplace.
