Job Description:

Place des Arts is seeking a committed, enthusiastic and qualified Dance Instructor who is passionate about art and teaching children and teens.

The successful candidate will teach youth dance classes (any styles) during our 2025/2026 season. Candidates must be available to teach in-person classes from September to June.

Responsibilities:

QUALIFICATIONS
• Completion of post-secondary education in dance, experience working in the dance and performing arts industry and/or equivalent training and work experience
• Minimum of 5-years teaching experience working with various ages and abilities

ATTRIBUTES AND ASSETS
• Ability to communicate and interact positively with students
• Experience choreographing pieces for dance competitions and year-end recitals
• Highly responsible and punctual
• Thoughtful, energetic and passionate about teaching
• Eager to participate in, and contribute to, our vibrant centre

Qualifications:

REQUIREMENTS
The application of Place des Arts COVID-19 vaccination policy is currently suspended however, should the policy be re-implemented, it will be a requirement for all current and future self-employed teachers. All teachers are required to obtain and provide a Police Information Check with a vulnerable sector check prior to commencing work.

Remuneration:

Starting at $36 per hour. Instructors are contracted to a self-employment agreement. Place des Arts coordinates studio space, scheduling, registration and program promotions.
