Crazy8s 2014 Call for Film Pitch Submissions
/The Crazy8s Film Society has announced the launch of their 2014 season. Crazy8s is an 8-day filmmaking challenge that provides funding and support to emerging filmmakers to help them produce a short film.
Can you make a short film in 8 days? If you’ve had that story you’ve always wanted to tell, now is the time to pitch it! If your idea is selected as one of six winners, your short film will screen for an audience of over a thousand at a gala and at festivals and markets around the world.

Vancouver-based conductor, composer and pianist Bramwell Tovey will be presented with the 2013 Friends of Canadian Music Award on September 30.
The award, presented by the Canadian League of Composers (CLC) and the Canadian Music Centre (CMC), honours those who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to Canadian composers and their music. It is accompanied by a cash prize of $2000.
