PEAK Performance Project Winners Announced

At the finale concert at the Commodore Ballroom on November 22, 2012, 102.7 The PEAK FM and Music BC crowned the top three artists in the fourth year of the PEAK Performance Project.

Taking home top honours and $102,700 in the music competition was husband-wife electro-pop duo Dear Rouge. In second place, with $75,000 prize money to spend towards his musical career, was indie-folk phenomenon Jordan Klassen, and rounding out the ranks in third place was pop crooner Dominique Fricot, who walked away with $50,000.

Rio Tinto Alcan Performing Arts Award Applications (Music)

The Rio Tinto Alcan Performing Arts Award is a $60,000 production fund open to performing arts companies resident in British Columbia.

Administered by The Cultch, The Rio Tinto Alcan Performing Arts Award was conceived to recognize the achievements of British Columbia performing arts companies and to foster the creation of new work by providing a significant financial investment in a new production by the chosen company.

City of New Westminster Names New Civic Facility

City of New Westminster Creates Plan to Support Public Art

The City of New Westminster has drafted a new plan to formally guide how it acquires and pays for major public works of art like sculptures, murals, and monuments.

Under the proposed policy, the city would set aside funds from its annual operating budget and establish a special reserve fund to cover the costs of new installations.
